The CICA (Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority) is a government body set up to compensate victims of violent crime and abuse. The scheme aims to compensate those who may not be able to claim against those responsible for causing their injuries.
We’re hosting a free online webinar where our serious injury colleague Sarah Brumpton will cover:
- An introduction to the CICA for looked after children and how/when to make a claim
- The role of the local authority as litigation friend
- Management of awards in Trusts or the Court of Protection
The webinar will be of interest to local authority children social workers, therapists, foster carers and foster care support groups, adoption social workers, paediatricians, trauma support workers, paediatric nurses and young adults in care.
