Barnsley Inclusive Playgroup with SHASBAH

Stay and Play is our weekly inclusive playgroup for our young members and their parents or carers. Our Barnsley branch is brand new for 2022! We’re excited to bring our services closer to families in this area of South Yorkshire.

We have a welcoming space for kids to have lots of fun, meaning that parents can meet and chat with each other. Entry is free and a hot drink is provided. Siblings are welcome to join us too.

Our friendly team set up and run plenty of activities, including books, sensory fun, toys and music. The children have a great time and it’s a great opportunity to connect with other parents/carers who are in a similar situation. We meet every week, so you can really build lasting relationships. Our team members also have personal experience of children with additional needs, making it a unique and helpful local group.

Our venues are excellent and easily accessible. We alternate between two family centres, so make sure to check the location for each week. We hope to see you at our NEW Barnsley inclusive playgroup!

We deliver day services, evening and weekend provision to adults and Kids services Thursday and Friday evenings and all day Saturday. We also run a health service supporting adults to attend Annual Health Checks in their GP practices.In addition we also consult with our members and support other organisations to engage and consult with members and their families on wider Sheffield service provision.

Caudwell Children is a registered charity that provides emotional and practical support to disabled children and their families. Our Services Include: Autism Service – ASD Assessments, OT Sensory Pathway Assessments, Workshops for parents and children aged 4 -11 years. Family Support – Families with support, signposting and information at the point of diagnosis or during treatment. Equipment – Funding towards Mobility, sensory and specialist sports equipment. Treatment – Funding towards vital treatments that can dramatically change or save a child’s life. Therapy – Access to therapy programmes for children with cerebral palsy, brain injuries and other associated conditions Supported Breaks – Teaching practical life skills through activity programmes, family trips and accredited courses.
