The group is focused on the young person who has a brother or sister with an additional need. From experience, siblings do an amazing job in supporting their brother or sister’s additional need.
Each session is really positive (based on fun activities) and it will allow the young person to discuss their fears but also celebrate their skills and current coping strategies and support them in creating further ones.
It also allows young people to recognise that they aren’t alone and ‘normalise’ some of their anxieties and feelings.
The session will be run alongside the SEND youth club on Wednesday 5.00pm to 7.00pm term time only. It is open to all siblings of children and young people with SEND aged between 7 and 18 years old.
Please book no later than 24 hours in advance, this is to ensure we have the correct staffing ratio in place.
