Changing Faces is the UK’s leading charity for everyone with a mark, scar or condition anywhere on their body that makes them look different. We offer confidential, one-to-one social, emotional and psychological counselling and support sessions, as well as a support and information line, peer group chats, an online community forum, online workshops for children, young people and families and a skin camouflage service.
Our ‘Parents Together’ workshop on Tuesday 28th June at 7.30pm will look at how parents can feel more empowered to support their child in everyday issues that they may experience because of looking different. We’ll look at specific tools on how to deal with staring, teasing and bullying, handling awkward social situations, as well as ways to increase confidence and build resilience. We’ll also have one of our fantastic young champions talking about their lived experiences. We are currently delivering our workshop events online due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. We have successfully delivered many workshops during lockdown and continue to offer different age groups and parents a range of events to suit their needs either at weekends or evenings.
