Join us to explore what demand-avoidant behaviour is and what it looks like, how it differs from PDA, and what it feels like for a young person to experience it. Find out what we can do as parents to reduce demands and reduce stress for ourselves.

This information session has been developed in discussion with the nurses at Ryegate. The information provided is all from valuable/reliable sources. We will share resources and tools to support a young person who is demand avoidant, and there will be time for peer support and discussion at the end.

There is no charge for the session and no diagnosis is required. Please note, this session is not suitable for children. You must be a member of Sheffield Parent Carer Forum to attend – register here. Booking essential.

A small user-led charity which makes life better for children with hydrocephalus (known as water on the brain) and the families who love and care for them. We deliver : Awareness: Every year 1 in 770 babies will be diagnosed with hydrocephalus, yet there is little awareness of the condition and its impact. We are working to change this through targeted awareness raising. Support: We direct families affected by hydrocephalus to organisations that can offer help. We also provide peer-to-peer support, so families feel less alone and can meet others from within their community who are going through the same. Campaigns Through our ‘Get-A-Head’ campaign, we speak up for better awareness of infant head circumference measurement as a tool for early diagnosis of hydrocephalus. Research and training We support research and fund training. This improves understanding of the condition and its management amongst front-line health care professionals, which improves patient care.

Molly’s Mates caters for young adults from the age of 18 with complex needs, learning difficulties and challenging behaviours.We offer flexible models of care & support.Our vision is to be at the centre of excellence and implementing services that support children & young people with all aspects of complex and individual needs.We strive as a charity to ensure the people we support are able to live a happy & healthy lifestyle within their community. Molly’s Mates runs Monday to Friday 9am to 3.30pm, we offer a drop off & pick up service where possible.
